Firefox 4 bug: Why the status bar keeps switching sides from left to right
Have you noticed that Firefox 4’s new status bar alternately appears on the left or right side of the screen? Here’s why.
In Firefox 4, you may have noticed that the status bar (which used to be at the bottom of the browser) is hidden: a small status bar now appears in the lower-left corner whenever you mouse over a link or a page is loading.
But sometimes the status bar appears to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then it switches sides and it is back to the left side. This is definitely annoying.
The reason: Whenever the Find bar is visible (to search words in the content of the page, CTRL + F), the status bar jumps to the right side of the screen. Since I use the Find function almost all the time, this is why this has happened so often.
What’s the fix? You have to close Find when you’re done with it. Hopefully Mozilla will fix this bug in the next Firefox update.

Nope, I just closed my find bar and it’s still appearing on the right. Sigh..
Eh, my bad. It swapped back to the left. ._. Maybe it just took a bit to recognise it, lol. Thanks for the temporary fix~
No, it will move to the opposite side to where the mouse pointer is, if the pointer is too near the left or right. Try it (by hovering over a link near the bottom left and bottom right of a page).
Annoying.
Yeah, if you have a slow-loading web page, you can move your mouse back and forth and watch the loading bar bounce back and forth playing keep-away from you. I find it very annoying! I never know which corner to look for it. I hate it!
