Review of the iPod Nano 2010 (6th GEN)

Date: September / 02 / 2010 + Comments: 8

A great review from the guys of engadget. What I like to see is how the new iPod Nano could be used as a wristwatch. The clock app has a very easy-to-read analog style to it, and swiping across the screen will give you a stopwatch and timer. There is no alarm clock, however, which as the Apple rep explained to us was a design decision given its lack of an external speaker.

    And just how will you listen to music with it strapped to your wrist?

    The Nano 6G is just a Shuffle posing as a Nano… ewwww

    * Good: Not Much
    * Bad: Downgrade of the Nano

    The Nano 6G should be called the new Shuffle, period. I am a happy owner of the Nano 5G and if Apple quits making the Nano 5G, then they lose business and sales. So sad if Apple would do this… So go for it Apple and meet your own demise.

    I own along with my family every model of the Ipod except for the Nano 6G and honestly might want one just to replace a Shuffle. If I had to replace Nano 5G with a Nano 6G, I would just rather buy another BRAND (if one existed) Long live the 5G Nano. The 6G again is a great product on its own but once again, the 6G is just a glorified touchscreen shuffle. Apple you blew this one.

    I love my shuffle for running–I just clip it to my shorts–but I can’t listen to podcasts on it. I can’t run with my Nano G3 without some kind of goofy strap. To me, this new Nano is perfect for my needs. I’ll be getting one as soon as I can afford one!

    hey so im not inpressed with this ipod at all. the only reason im keeping it is because it was a christmas prestent by the person who ran over my itouch(r.i.p A.I.T) the battery on mine doesnt last more than 6hrs. but i did find a way todo a alarm clock you goto the timer and you set it for how long till you have to wake up, then you plug it up to the ihome and you cant use songs but they have the iphone ring tones. im not impressed with this at all. i really think apple is faling apart.

    thats stupid, no external speaker isnt an excuse for the ipod not to have an alarm, heck, my 2nd generation ipod nano has an alarm, and that thing surely has no external speakers either! i plug it into a big stereo speaker and thats how i listen to the alarm. apple, u had no excuse. i couldda done what u did in the past and GIVE ME AN ALARM. looks like ill have to keep my 2nd gen for an alarm clock use after all… *sigh*

    I just bought at 6g and am really hoping an alarm is added with the 1.2 software upgrade. It’s something seriously needed.
