iPhone: Opera Mini versus Safari (Velocity test)

This video shows a velocity test between the new Opera Mini 5 and Safari in an iPhone 3GS. Opera Mini wins for a long distance, since its software is designed to first call the web page in Opera servers where it is compressed and then finally resend to the device. That is why the first seconds we had a blank page and then the page just loads faster.

Opera Mini is now available in the App Store and it is FREE, every body is surprised about Apple’s decision in approving this kind of software.

I like how the navigation and use of tabs is managed with thumbnails that you just drag and drop.

Can Opera Mini do drag & drop on the iPhone, or is it going to be a big worthless disappointment to me, like iPhone Safari?
