While some didn’t like G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (by director Stephen Sommers), I really enjoyed the film, as a BIG action movie bringing to life a classic cartoon tv series.
G.I. JOE was very profitable, it collected over $300 million at the worldwide box office. So the producers and the studio want a sequel.

Paramount’s Vice Chairman Rob Moore said a sequel would soon go into development.
The 2 writers of Zombieland, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were hired to write G.I. Joe 2, since they did an amazing job. They are also writing Deadpool for 20th Century Fox.
As a huge fan of Zombieland, I’m really excited they’re on GI Joe 2.
There are no words if Stephen Sommer will direct it again. Let’s hope he will.
All the actors from the first movie signed for sequels.
