The New Guy Ritchie’s movie: Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams premiered yesterday December 25th in USA.
Today the USA Box Office results indicates that it has beaten out Avatar from the first place with a difference of one million dollars.

- ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL (Fox) $14,500,000

- UP IN THE AIR (Paramount) $3,550,000
ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 2 and IT’S COMPLICATED have also premiered this week.
Avatar has 8 days in theaters, and this second place must be complicated for Warner Bros, since Avatar has a big production budget. In the other hand, Sherlock Holmes can become an unexpected success, and it probably will.
On Monday we will see how the final numbers result for the whole weekend.
