the Jabberwock in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

The new Jabberwock (or Jabberwocky) is a dragon like monster from the Lewis Carroll’s universe. It can be seen in the second trailer of Alice in Wonderland. It is fighting on those ruins against Alice (Mia Wasikowska). She is to the right side as a small body using a silver armor, the same armor from this picture:

At first glance reminded me the Dragon from Disney’s Enchanted. But doing a little bit of research, it looks very similar from the original drawings of Carroll’s books:

Jabberwock drawing Through the Looking-Glass
Description: Illustration to the poem Jabberwocky. A work by English illustrator Sir John Tenniel (1820-1914). First published in Carroll, Lewis. 1871. Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There.

The original drawing looks scarier and smaller than the Tim Burton’s CGI Jabberwock, and both are much better that the Jabberwock from the 1985’s film Alice in Wonderland (which was based in the book Through The Looking Glass). Here is a scene with that Godzilla like Jabberwocky:

Jabberwocky is a poem of nonsense verse written by Lewis Carroll, originally featured as a part of his novel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871). It is considered by many to be one of the greatest nonsense poems written in the English language.[1] The poem is sometimes used in primary schools to teach students about the use of portmanteau and nonsense words in poetry, as well as use of nouns and verbs

Sir Christopher Lee In the upcoming Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland (2010), Sir Christopher Lee (Count Dooku from Star Wars, Saruman from The Lord of the Rings) will play the voice of The Jabberwock.
