These dogs are both bigger (two dogs share the role) than your standard-sized Shiba. Cream is a less common color for Shibas as well, though it's not exactly rare. My money is on either Kishu Ken or Hokkaido Ken, which are considered "Shika Inu," medium-sized native Japanese breeds. The smallest native breed is the Shiba, then there are the four medium sized breeds: Hokkaido, Kishu, Kai, and Shikoku, then lastly the Akita. I'm owned by two Shibas and have met a few Kai and Japanese-style Akitas (American Akitas tend to be, though are not always different). Hoping to import a Hokkaido someday.
